Privacy Policy

Overview

MetaModel LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the website metamodel.app and the MetaModel MCP Server (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We use this information solely for authentication and account management.

Project Data

Projects you create (including models, formulas, inputs, and descriptions) are stored in our database to provide the Service. Published projects are accessible via the Compute API and MCP Server. Unpublished projects are private to your account.

Compute API & MCP Server

The Compute API and MCP Server are stateless. When a computation is requested:

  • Input values are evaluated against published project formulas and discarded immediately
  • No input data is logged, stored, or associated with any user
  • No authentication is required for public API calls
  • No cookies, tokens, or tracking identifiers are used
  • No personal data is collected from API consumers

Usage Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views, browser type, and country-level location. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and cannot identify individual users. No third-party tracking scripts, advertising pixels, or fingerprinting techniques are used.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, request timestamps, and user agent strings. These logs are used for security monitoring and are retained according to the provider's standard data retention policies.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate your account and manage your session
  • Respond to support requests
  • Monitor for abuse and ensure service security
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the product

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Account and project data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, row-level security policies, and secure authentication flows.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — view your account and project information at any time
  • Correct inaccurate data — update your email or account details in Settings
  • Delete your data — delete your account and all associated projects by contacting us
  • Export your data — download your projects in JSON format

Children's Privacy

MetaModel is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and unpublished projects within 30 days. Published projects that have been shared via public links may be retained in anonymized form.

International Users

MetaModel is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR for European users and CCPA for California residents.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
